Addressed to a guy who wants to win back his lover, this breezy romp finds Taylor giving advice how to get the girl. Her recommendations are more romantic ("Remind her how it used to be..."with pictures in frames of kisses on cheeks") than the one her former lover uttered in " I Knew You Were Trouble" ("Baby, I miss you and I swear I'm gonna change, trust me").
Taylor wrote the song behind Max Martin and Shellback, the Swedes behind hit tunes from the likes of Britney, Backstreet Boys and Katy Perry as well as Swift's own previous hits " We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together Again" and "I Knew You Were Trouble."
Taylor teased a little snippet of the song before the release of 1989 during a Diet Coke ad. The commercial co-stars the singer's cat Olivia and finds her surrounded by kittens. She boasted about pet's new career: "Behold, the Diet Coke ad that depicts my perfect world. Featuring a new song and Olivia, who is now a cat actress."
This song was written with lazy men in mind. "It's written for a guy who has broken up with his girlfriend, then wants her back after six months," Swift explained to US Weekly. "But it's not going to be as simple as sending a text like, 'Sup? Miss you.'"
