Oh boy. , 37, had to get in a dig at , 25, during his opening monologue on The Late Late Show. The singer joked he and Taylor wouldn’t be hugging it out like old friends at the Grammys on Feb. 8! As you know, these two used to be a couple, but it’s safe to say that they’re probably not friends at all.
John Mayer Disses Taylor Swift On ‘The Late Late Show’
“You can see me at the Grammys doing what I do best, being avoided by Taylor Swift,” John said.
After faking what their interaction would be like, John continued, “That won’t make the internet at all.”
Ouch. That one hurt. John and Taylor dated in 2009 before breaking up. Her song “Dear John” is notoriously about the rocker. Hence the name.
However, John has since been on-again-off-again with , 29, who we know Taylor is frenemies with at best. It’s probably safe to assume that John is on Team Katy.
Opening monologues on any late night show are the prime time for celebrity disses. Seriously, every celeb has been dissed at one point or another. It’s not surprising that John would choose Taylor to take aim at, especially on his last night as guest host. Talk about shock value!

Nope, T-Swift isn’t dealing with that drama. She’s bringing her BFF ! She posted and Instagram picture with the caption, ““My date to the Grammys is…….. @abigail_lauren!! We’ll try to dress as well in 2015 as we did in 2005.#GetReady.”
It’s good that Taylor will have her best friend by her side the whole night given that she’ll be sitting awkwardly close to Katy! Will John make things even more awkward? Time will tell!
